2. Okay, so my timing might be off, but still . . .

Yes, the meeting was on June 9.

And 45 made the "invitation" in late July - July 27?

That's a bit of a gap, but still. . .

You know, much of what all of these people say kind of reminds me of false pretext phone calls or phone messages or e-mails that mean something quite different from the message itself. You know the kind. From spy novels, where the intelligence officer calls a source and asks for Mr. Jones and is told there is no Mr. Jones at that number. This means there's a meeting tonight at midnight in the usual place. Or a bent cop calls a mobster and ask for Mr. Smith, which means that the mobster is about to be arrested and should run.

Or actions taken recently have their history in the past, so there's no apparent, ready explanation of behavior. Like with Qatar. Out of the blue 45 starts bad-mouthing them, even though they're an ally. And just now we learn that the Qataris didn't loan Kushner a half billion dollars last year.

Or the termination of Preet Bharara had nothing to do with his refusal to take 45's phone calls but rather was intended to get him out of the way in a major Russian investigation related to the Magnitski issue.

Etc. . .

Etc. . .
