14. The rest of his (trump's) comment went unspoken....but

what he really meant and just blurted out without thinking about it was...."For an old gal of your age, you've held up pretty good." She is, in fact, older than her husband by quite a bit. They have the same age difference as tRump and Melania do. When men get younger wives, people tend to say... Way to go. Wink, wink.... But if a woman gets a younger spouse she is a cradle robber or a hussy. Heaven forbid if she dresses nicely in a youthful outfit and has the hairstyle of a much younger woman. We put people in boxes and tell a woman that longer hair looks silly. Or she is grasping at holding on to her youth.

Speaking as a woman who is now a senior citizen, being Older is no bed of roses. You are more vulnerable to the maladies of the world and statistically more likely to be dealing with things like heart disease and cancer. If being fit and "in good shape" helps hold some of those things at bay, who could blame Brigitte for keeping fit and trim?

But tRump being tRump, we know what was the unspoken portion of his commentary on Ms. Macron's physical appearance. He values good looks above all else, especially in women. Their value to him plummets once they start to show age. He exempts himself from this critique or has deluded himself into believing the orange make up and phony hair have restored his youthful appearance. But most of us can see he ain't fooling anybody. He is a 71 year old man in the body of an 85 year old. He is reaping years of inattention to his own physical well being while at the same time declaring himself as the ultimate judge of the fairer sex. So when he tells Brigitte she is in good shape, somehow he thinks that observation reflects on his good taste in women. I guess by now Melania is used to it.
