if they were as concerned about the impact of their extremist rhetoric on LGBTQ persons. Even if they can't get their extremist ideas always enacted into law, their rhetoric and ideas breed anger, fear, and resentment of LGBTQ persons, which very often leads to violence (which is often dismissed and sanctioned) and negative attitudes against LGBTQ persons and encourages LGBTQ persons to struggle and harm themselves. While I disavow anybody on the left or pro-LGBTQ side inciting or encouraging violence against, I don't see the two situations as being equivalent as the people promoting hatred of LGBTQ persons are the ones writing and trying to pass laws against them.
