to be perfectly clear, they pay us wages to help them control more and more of the world. we clear the forests, build the roads and transportation networks, build the machines that harvest the crops, do the research that creates new technologies, inventions, weapons, insights into the mind ---

and all our work just goes to perfect their control over us.

people have been taught to think that capital is just after profits, and we think profits are dependent on a thriving consumer economy.

it's not the case. they can create profits out of air (as they are now) while the consumer economy is in the toilet. they can forgo profits and drive smaller competitors out of business.

it's about power & control.
