So, will Senator McCain have to show up for every vote [View all]

on the Republican health care bills? If so, that seems unlikely if this goes on much longer. He's going to need to start treatment soon, assuming he hasn't already done so. It's not a kind sort of treatment, either. The combination radiation and chemotherapy is pretty brutal. So brutal, in fact, that many people with the type of brain cancer he has refuse to be treated, just so they can live a little longer in good enough shape to get done the things they need to get done.

He may be in DC the rest of the week, but I don't see anything passing within that time, or even being close enough to need McCain for 50 votes.

The Senate will soon be short of the 50 votes needed, as long as a couple of Republicans hold out.

Go home, John. Spend some quality time with your family there. Really.
