34. Cognitive behavioral therapy

CBT is focused on helping people to identify cognitive distortions that lead them to behave in maladaptive ways. It can be effective in the short term and focuses on training the person to be a "self scientist" by means of teaching reality testing and other techniques that disrupt emotional and thought processes that may be problematic.
