a mob of endlessly self-declared Christians completely lost its collective shit at the thought of a nearby town potentially hosting a few dozen Syrian refugees. They had a laundry list of excuse to help them insist that their objection isn't racist or xenophobic, of course, and when I mocked their bigotry by quoting scripture to them verbatim, they told me that I was taking the words out of context.

In our fine nation of Christian values, you will find no bigot more unabashed than an alleged Christian.
