Growing up with a slight birth defect (missing some fingers on rt hand) I can say from experience that grades 1-6 were the worst by far for being picked on, made fun of...bullying. Everyday it went on and thank the powers that be that at the time (late 70's, early 80's) I was living with my great grandmother. Everyday I woke up dreading going to school and everyday I came home absolutely depressed and dejected. My grandmother would always tell me the rhyme "Sticks and Stones". It was some of the best advice I ever got...it is only words.
Back when I was dealing with bullying that rhyme worked wonders for me but that was a different time. I only had to deal with the bullying for a few hours each day. Today with social media bullying goes on 24hrs day. Not sure if the advice grandma gave would work for me today...but that rhyme is still good advice IMO.
