in the primary will improve Democrats chances in picking up AZ.
If in 2018, Democrats end up picking up only NV, but losing MO, Democrats need to pick up 3 seats in 2020 to regain control of the US Senate. Democrats will hold onto every Democratic held seat up in 2020 including in MI,MN,NH,and VA and pick up CO,ME-if it is an open seat, and NC-Democrats chances of unseating Tillis-R improves if Democrats carry NC at the Presidential level. AZ is likely to have a special US Senate Election in 2020. Democrats need to nominate a top tier candidate to run for the AZ Special Election and target AZ at the Presidential Level.
In 2018 -Democrats have to hold onto every Democratic held seat including FL,IN,MI,MO,MT,ND,OH,PA,WV,and WI and pick up NV. 49D 51R.
In 2020-Democrats have to hold onto every Democratic held seat including MI,MN,NH,and VA and pick up CO and win back the White House or pick up NC. ME becomes a Democratic pick up if Collins retires or loses in the Republican primary.
