My father gave me a choice for my birthday a used Supro amp or a 62 strat rosewood fretboard I chose stratocaster. My father was always telecaster player and always had friends over. I need to add that my father was awesome guitarist and from blues to chickin pickin and really influenced me to explore all music genres he would say always add to your ability, and today I do that with our son who is 12 and coming along faster than I was at his age Internet jamming with dad and my friends as well as lessons from a friend of mine who is retired studio guitarist. I will say to my son what if jimmi Hendrix played heart shaped box by nirvana instance how he covered Dylan's like a rolling stone so it is away to get him out of the this is a chord and now this is lead part. And I showed him say thru hammer on's and Hendrix type chords or fills how heart shaped box would may have sounded wow dad that is cool. Anyway back to the strat a friend of my father played a strat and I loved it perhaps my idols robin trower Jeff beck or Hendrix. My father worked in steel mill and had friend who had this 62 for sale 200$ In 1976. keep in mind it would be like today buying a 03 strat nothing special to 12 year old just my guitar who cared it was 14 years old it was mine and one day I'd tour the world you know how kids dream. But I love that guitar still to this day because it was from my father,it is worn to the wood from playing it for like 40 years. Last year our son found a used prs custom 22 dad can we go look so we went looked played bought it. I have mccarty and two prs single cuts but he found the custom 22 and hey let's go check it out. In car on way home he kept on looking in backseat like making sure it would not disappear hey I ramble just love my family guitars and as for the wilkinson hendrix Fillmore it is awesome guitar. Take it easy be safe
