8. Please forgive me

But every time we've hoped "they're so awful, voters will turn out for us" it's ended badly. I remember thinking this about Kerry in 2004. Bush was an incomparable moron, right? Surely they'll turn out for us. It didn't happen.

If there's anything I've learned in nearly 20 years as a Democrat, it's that we must offer something to entice the voters. That's how we, the Democrats, win. They, the right-wing always turn out. Like it's their religious duty. Every time. We need to convince voters that we'll make their lives better.
