(4,410 posts)I got news for you: This kind of rallying would've happened a lot sooner. Trump's campaign let this kind of genie back out of its bottle. If he lost in 2016, he would've supported or endorsed, if not outright hosted these kinds of protests against the left, and things would have gotten a lot more violent a lot sooner, too.
It serves no purpose, NONE WHATSOEVER, for one side to continue blaming the other about who's enabled what's gone down in Charlottesville. Everyone has some kind of butt-hurt over 2016: From Clinton's supporters blaming Bernie-Bros and the Greens and the Russians and Comey; from Sanders' supporters blaming the party and lack of purity; and from non-voters who, if they are politically aware, blame the two-party system for whatever reason for their sitting out in November.
You want someone to blame? Blame Trump and his rabid base for what's happened in the last 18 hours or so in Virginia. THIS IS ON THEM, NOT ANY OF US. Everyone who is against Trump needs to stop blaming someone who is probably 90% in agreement with them. 2016 is done and over. We need to get our act together RIGHT NOW and stand united against these forces of darkness, and continue doing so through 2018, and if we aren't nuked off the face of the planet, continue doing so through 2020. Because it's not just a political thing; it's a survival of the nation and species thing.
