He began with a written statement about condemning violence. Then he seemed to pivot to an ad-libbed comment about "on all sides"--his voice sounded more emphatic as if this is what he really meant. He meant to say he wasn't blaming the alt-right. Listen again and you will hear the change in tone from flat to emphatic. And I read some tweeted reactions from them that said as much: "he's not blaming us".
