But your comments are absolutely right on.

The young people with malleable brains are swept up into these group-think organizations. Brothers (usually), Sisters.

But for good chance I could have gotten my ass into a lot of permanent trouble in those teen-twenty years. This poor person (in character and actions) will serve as an example to other young people about how not to go about life.

Of course, the military around the world like people like this. Indoctrinate them early, lead them into war for "just" reasons. One way the rich try population and societal control.
