(19,240 posts)can have an affect on the newborn. For instance, influenza infection in the mother in the second trimester can increase schizophrenia and mental illness. Influenza typically occurs in the winter months. Meaning that this effect would be more pronounced in certain birth signs (gemini).
The length of days, amount of sunlight, temperature that the newborn is exposed to, foods that the nursing mother was eating (and vitamins which might have been scarce at certain times of the year) could have had a profound effect on the newborn brain back in the days when people did not have electric lights and ac and all the things we have now that give us seasonless lifestyles.
And, since our human genome is infinitely adaptable, there is no reason to assume that the human race is not hard wired to be born with exactly the traits that will make survival more certain. So, for instance, babies born in winter might be quieter in order not to disturb people stuck in caves. Those born in summer might be louder.
I believe the so called "star signs" were probably an attempt by early humans to explain characteristics which they noticed seemed to occur more often in those born around the same time of the year.
