255. Don't care. I believe in the free market. She's obviously produced something people will pay for.

To talk about "deserves" is fucking ludicrous. Of course she deserves it, because people en masse willingly transacted with her, or her record company, exchanging their money for her intellectual property- music, or whatever else.

Also, it's not like all that money came from building stealth bombers or some shit. Music, entertainment, enriches peoples' lives. Can make their existence feel more worthwhile, more meaningful. Beautifies and adds complexity to the world. Who is to say that isn't valuable, even priceless?

And even if it isn't, too fucking bad. It's a free country. If someone is rich, really rich, even "too" rich or ungodly rich or 90 million dollar house with a helipad rich, okay, from a public policy perspective we advocate for a higher marginal tax rate on the 1% or .1% or .01% or whatever. We defend a solid social safety net for low income people. We advocate for a livable minimum wage. That's legitimate, and one can assume that Beyonce and Jay-Z, having endorsed Democrats in the past, support or at least understand this concept to some degree or another.

But it's not up to the State to determine how much an entertainer - or anyone else - should be "allowed" to make. That's some Stalinist bullshit, right there.
