(21,506 posts)People on this board tend to have very strong opinions. I have argued with many here. I have at times fought with what felt like the whole board.
The thing that brings me back is the strong opinions. It is the bedrock foundational belief in democratic values. Sometimes those beliefs go way too far for me sometimes not nearly far enough. In then end though there are always things to learn and viewpoints to consider.
If your beliefs are so fragile you can not defend them or learn when confronted on them this place can be pretty freaking frightening especially as a low post count poster when the trust level is low.
I don't think there was anything wrong with your post. I think it is ridiculous to even give two seconds thought to what Six flags does with it's flags that I bet not 1 in 10 people could have told you what they were before today. That said that is part of this board exploring these thoughts.
This six flags debate is an obvious alt right excuse to try and deflect from the hurt caused by confederate statues. A marketing decision made by a company trying to avoid confrontation. There is no deep meaning to it. It is only being seized on to try to weaken the resolve against racism in america. to try to excuse the racism as just wanting to preserve our heritage.
It is an amusement park not a national monument.
