9. It's because our high schools are not teaching anything about 20th century history

It's never been taught to our kids what happened in Germany and the rest of Europe in the 1930's. A lot of turmoil led to Hitler coming to power, and it almost went the other way. That's right, Germany almost went communist instead of national socialism. (Nazi's) That's why the "good" Germans voted for Hitler, to keep the communists out. But look what happened and we ended up with a World War and the Holocaust.

Our kids are not taught any of this, and if any US teacher were to mention it in school they'd be fired on the spot.

I graduated high school in the 1960's and it was never mentioned even then. I used to think it was because of the Vietnam conflict, but now I know better. It's been 3 generations of kids that have not been taught about the conflicts that led to World War 2. Is this fucked up or what?
