189. We are doing well

It was a heck of a ride. The eye was really strange. The quiet is so odd after experiencing 120 mph winds. Seagulls and birds were stuck in the center and moving along with the eye. It got worse when the winds shifted after the eyed passed. The eye experience was about an hour. I built my house like a tank and followed coastal code (stud spacing, lag bolt specs, hurricane rafter ties). It really paid off. I live on a ranch and some of my neighbors down the road did not fare so well. I will not stay if the next hurricane has the potential of being higher than Cat 3. We lucked out that it was so slow and it died down. We are only 45 miles from Rockport. They are devastated.
