It is easy to over analyze what politicians say. I am not a fan of Senator Feinstein. I think that she is way too comfortable with surveillance and wielding state power. That said, she is trying to be optimistic, which I don't agree with at all. Change is possible, it is. If it were not possible, what hope would we have as a species?

That said, I tend to look at, not what is possible (it is possible Trump get struck by lightning, or a meteor, or is swallowed up by a sinkhole). I look at what is probable. He will not likely change. He will not likely learn. I think that his capacity for self examination (which is vital for learning and change) is severely lacking. He also has little incentive to change relative to his needs and desires. He is insulated by his enablers and has a tightly knit group of supporters. He has shown the tendency toward self delusion and grandiosity, which also bodes poorly for changing and leaning.

So, yes it is possible that he could change and learn, but it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY, which is why Mueller needs to be supported in continuing his job, and why the Democratic Party needs to continue to fight viciously to take back the Congress. If we can get back the House even, we could push impeachment, even if the Senate is not as likely to convict and remove, Trump will then have to limp through 2 years hung around the neck of the GOP, or he will resign in disgrace.

That should be the focus and that is why I think it was good that Feinstein was booed. She needs to do her job and keep fighting for the average person and not be so willing to capitulate to power.
