Often in the rear, but occasionally combat service. All sorts of people have served in the military. However, there are also a lot of people in the moron militia who never did, as well.

It doesn't matter. If they're carrying lethal weapons to a public demonstration, they're cowards, whether they have military service in their backgrounds or not.

But, as you say, there are many who did serve, did learn, and still remember what they learned. They're still around. Some of them go to demonstrations, as well, but go unarmed, because no arms are needed to peacefully protest. Those people are not cowards. Not at all.
