His voters were sold a version of America that was universally white, universally prosperous, and Muslim-free (except for waiters and janitors).

Now, many of them see they see that they were all taken for fools, but not one of them WANTS to admit openly that they were taken for fools. They are all in their internet chat rooms (when not bashing us on ours) patting themselves on the back, saying "how great he is," and "how lucky we are," just WAITING for the first one of them to say, "hey, we were all duped, and he's a total fraud!"

When the first prominent Trumpador says that openly, they will bite and claw at each other to join that bandwagon. "Who? Me? I was just voting against Hillary. I never fell for Trump's phony routine for a second!" Suuuuuuuuuuure you didn't. And McDonald's milkshakes were better for you back when they had higher contents of plastic beads and sawdust.
