1. I get the feeling that few are willing to support boycotts at DU

Personally, I vote 24/7 with my wallet. I don't eat at Chic-Filet, Blooming Brands, Carl's Jr/Hardees, Burger King, Nestle, don't buy from Amazon, Hobby Lobby, and many many more.
