This is actually not a bad idea. In legalization states, a union of workers could set up a state-wide credit union. Which would make it so much easier and safer for everyone to do business.

So far, they're generally not abusive workplaces, but all workplaces have the potential, and right now, most growers have to 1099 their employees (or use a co-working cover service) so the employee has to deal with FICA, health care and other tax situations. A union could help the industry force the state to fix some of those rules.
