It may seem obvious [View all]

but I'm a work in progress.

My daughter has had her children in private (or charter) schools since they started, mainly to avoid bullying, drug use and other negatives. They changed schools lately because the first school is limited in what they can offer. It was a Christian school. I think they did a good job with the kids and offered a kind loving school environment. The new school is focused on a more classical education, but like the first school is manned and supported by republicans, conservatives and religious people. I'm withholding judgement, but based on members of the board, I'd pass if they were my kids.

I was checking the new school and saw several very conservative republicans on the board. Sighing inwardly, I thought, 'Why isn't there a Democratically backed school they can send the kids to?' And the lightbulb went off. At least around here, PUBLIC SCHOOL is backed by Dems. I support the public schools because I'm a product of public school and I am proud not only of my education, but my lifelong interest in learning more.

Anyway, I gained insight about our school system, I think.
