He is bulldozing the pretense of democracy. The election of 2000 marked the clear transition to a society controlled by oligarchs. Trump is the reductio ad adsurdum of American democracy. It's a zombie. I believe we are at the point where the majority of Americans will passively accept a trade of their right to representative government for something less demanding and more comfortable.
