(21,615 posts)5. One generally has to read extensively to be able to spell and write well.
Good readers become good writers and thus good spellers.
Unfortunately, many people rarely read actual books, newspapers or non-popular culture magazines and journals.

I also note that many good spellers are "visual learners" as opposed to those who learn best from
