(53,026 posts)Yet rather that standing up for voting rights, we see endless concern about a few thousands white men earning over $75k-100k, the lowest income demographic that Trump won. Not only that, we see a corresponding effort to drive the party into enacting voter disenfranchisement efforts by replacing primaries with caucuses, the system that is most exclusionary to the elderly, disabled, poor, shift workers, people of color, and women with childcare obligations.
It's one thing to understand that voters in the middle determine elections. That is absolutely true. It's another to project one's agenda onto Republican voters as an explanation for the loss, which is exactly what we see happening. I'm not talking about you here, but rather something that has been going on since the GE.
