We live in South West Broward county ( far from the beach but about halfway between Miami & Ft Lauderdale) and boy oh boy we're we lucky! We were in the cone of Irma until the trajectory changed and when it came near us it was only Cat 1 force winds. We suffered no real damage to our home and only lost power for just half a day. We lost a lot of trees in the neighborhood and most traffic lights are still out, but boy oh boy I will say again - we were very lucky here. My thoughts and prayers are with our brothers & sisters in the Keys that stayed to ride out the storm and those on our west coast who took a big hit, Marco Island (a beautiful resort town) got a Cat 3 yesterday afternoon. Tired and tired, but okay. 👍👍👍
