First of all, Spicer got to a place denied orange boy: the Emmy stage.

Second, he said the same ludicrous words he had to say at dolt45's behest: a brag about crowd size.

That probably pissed tRump off more than Colbert's opening number. Well, it should have, but I don't think the White House squatter has enough presence of mind to see it.
