Not in Ohio. Sidewalks AND roads are OK for bikes. Just obey respective pedestiran or vehicle laws.

I lived in inner city cleveland at one point. Rode on sidewalks because it was FASTER than cars.

I won't trust that technology for a long time. Too much can go wrong, especially with hacking.
