Now that it is clear that some of the campaign were doing things that they should not have done, this question is trying to isolate Trump. They are setting up a defense that Trump was unaware of what was going. Of course with a side benefit of being able to blame the "deep state" for not telling him.

I sincerely hope this backfires. If the FBI comes back and says they did notify Trump, its going to get really interesting.
