... and whether or not he has pets... and suggesting that this reveals something about his psyche. Frankly, this kind of "logic" and association risks insulting people who (for whatever reasons) do not have pets.

I know many fine people who do not have pets. They're all wonderful human beings. Their lack of being pet-owners does not make them any less worthy of respect. It doesn't make them less trustworthy, or less honest, or less loving, or less friendly. People should not be diminished or disparaged for not being pet owners.

Look, I hate Donald Trump as much as anyone, but it's wrong to make these broad-brush attacks that also insinuate that pet-free families, couples or individuals are inferior to others who DO own pets. (Even if you didn't "mean it"... I'm just letting you know how it sounds and comes across.)
