10. I think I told this story before here....

Back when he was first running for Senator against multi-millionaire Linda McMahon, a debate was scheduled at the television station about 2 miles from me. We all went to the station with signs to rally outside.

McMahon showed up in a huge chauffeured limousine with tinted windows.

A few minutes later Murphy showed up in his family Subaru station wagon, his wife was driving. He stopped, waved to us all with a big grin, and then went up the hill to the station.

I've met him a number of times, he's a really normal, down to earth, hard working guy. No flourishes, no fanfare, just a "get the job done" type of guy.
