and the worst thing Francis Scott Key ever did in his life was take a song that challenging to sing and turn it into a war anthem. His words are inferior to the original and only trained singers can hit all the notes--unless they're in a bar and bliind (and deaf) drunk.

Your condensation of the lyrics is spot on.
