I'm just finishing up "And Hell Followed With Her," the story of Shawna Forde and the border patrol fad of the mid-2000s. The "secure borders" veneer was thin cover for the virulent, violent racism underlying the movement, and we're going to see it again. This time around, they're styling themselves as anti-communist as well as anti-immigrant to cover their violent racism. But it's the same thing every time.
