Thank you and thank you to the poster. He was no friend to women and his support for birth control and abortion was not for women's sake but for the sake of men who wanted to have women sexually available to them without the risk of having to take responsibility for the consequences of sexual intercourse: namely, pregnancy. Anyone who thinks that he helped to liberate women should stop and think about Playboy bunnies and the kind of misogynistic cartoons that were in Playboy magazine. And that is not even to address his personal lifestyle, which was anything but respectful to women.

The idea that he was some kind of liberator of women would be risible if it weren't so insulting.
