Back in Dubya's time as POTUS, "free speech zones" were the norms. ANYONE with a viewpoint contrary to what the right wing was pushing were herded off so he didn't have to see them, so if you were carrying a sign or wearing something that might upset poor little Georgie, you were hustled out of sight, and arrested if you protested.

Always made me wonder why it was OK to carry a gun to the venue where Obama was speaking, but a sign could get you arrested.
