Some people feel nostalgics about an embellished past which has never existed.

They have the illusion that life was easier, cheaper with less problems.

In fact, the reality is at the exact opposite.

Despite the feelings, our lives never stopped improving. Life was not specially cheaper. Compared on constant currency basis, it is more or less the same (in general). Some items are cheaper nowdays than before.

I did my best to answae in English, of course, it is much more short than an answer in French.

By the way, your French is great.
