If we're all "FU" when people admit their mistakes, they're not going to be open about their change of heart. And if they're not open about their change of heart, other people won't see their change of heart and listen and learn from it.

It's hella annoying that horrible things only bother some people when tragedy strikes them personally, but it's also human nature, and I think we should be extra welcoming when people out and out admit that they had been stubborn in the past. Otherwise we won't make any progress at all.
