" I can't answer that because we need to have a conversation about that"

"Until we have a conversation about that and learn more, I can't answer that"

If I were in that room I would ask

"What will the president learn in a conversation, that he already doesn't know about bump stocks?"

"Is there anything the president already knows, that doesn't require him to have a conversation with some one else?"
