1. I absent-mindedly let my drivers' license expire, too, and

when I went to Walgreens to get some Sudafed for a bad cold, they wouldn't let me buy it without a current drivers' license (just in case I might want it to cook meth). So I had to run out and get my license renewed before I could go back to the drugstore for some cold medicine. It's easier to buy bullets than to get OTC medicine for a cold.

I hope you finally got your cat.
