In reply to the discussion: I met a trumpanista today, and it didn't go well [View all]LiberalLovinLug
(14,173 posts)86. Sounds like the only troll was yourself, at least from what I read Maybe there was more to the story
Was just at Albertsons, I asked a girl if they had those trump troll dolls, she said they were all sold out and good luck finding one. As she must have known that they were selling out everywhere.
She then asked if I was a fan of dumpf, I said no, I want one to tie to the pair of blue silicone testicles hanging from the back bumper of my truck......
Ooooo did I get a look, I then asked where the air fresheners were, she says aisle 13, I said you know I was just in aisle 13, the one full of candy from end to end.
She turned and walked away.
I love it when a plan comes together.
I could have reported her to management I suppose, but her little dumpf dream is coming to an end soon enough, that's a gift that'll keep on giving.
And the look on her face when I described what I wanted the troll for?.
PRICELESS
Just based on what you wrote, you must see that it could be interpreted another way.
Her first response when you asked her if she had that product was to not just say no, but to add in a conversational "good luck finding one".
She then asked if you were a fan of Trump. Lets see, you were going to buy a Trump doll. She could have just been doing her job and being cordial. She may have been a "trumpanista", but she also may have been a Democrat voter who knew she could only ask and not comment as her job was not to bring friction. Or she could have been one of the half the country that never voted and is mostly apolitical and doesn't normally even think much about politics. We cannot tell from that text of the conversation either way.
Then you went out of your way to assume she was a "trumpanista" and gleefully told her your rude plans with said doll. She reacted like a lot of young women would. She was more put off with your genitalia reference said to her, a stranger, probably with a smile on your face, than she was with any political humor stunt you had planned. It could easily provoke a "look" without meaning she was a "trumpanista".
And perhaps, just perhaps, she did think the air fresheners were on aisle 13. That or you couldn't find them. If that was the case, then for you to snidely come back at her with the implied accusation that she was trying to screw with you? Yeah her just walking away seems like a normal reaction for her.
Also a little disturbing is your admission that you had a "plan" that came together, and you loved it. So your plan was not to go into the store and buy a Trump troll doll primarily. It was to find a clerk who you would goad to the point of believing she was a Trump supporter, and then fuck with her? Or what exactly was it?
That is what I got based on your truncated description of the event. It wasn't funny and didn't make you look good at all.

Damn! Wish I had known. I would've gotten one, esp since I HAVE one troll doll already.

All the poster did was ask about where an item was, how is that bothering people?

I agree. The whole mentioning of the blue balls thing was just juvenile and uncooth.

I'm guessing she thought you were a gross old guy, what with your crude "explanation."

You were considering reporting her to management for sending you to aisle 13 for air freshener?
