4. I used to live in Maryland - Lovely state, but....

a few pockets where racism was and probably still is alive and kicking. The Crofton area was once the home of poor blacks who couldn't afford to live in the rich suburbs of Washington , D.C. As time passed the blacks were displaced by lower income whites who carried a lot of resentment with them and basically took over the government and politics of that area. The KKK was still very active when I left Maryland some 25 years ago.
