(3,534 posts)Check out Buchanan's resume. But the plain fact is that 60 million voted for the dolt. I think it has more to do with emotion than logic. The powers that be were able to stir up strong emotions in the election cycle. It was classic demagoguery and we did a poor job of puncturing the hot air balloon. Of course he was pumped by the mainstream media and their taking of phony scandals seriously, but there is a lesson to be learned here. A truly bad candidate can defeat a good one if they know how to use the media. It's not the first time, just the latest example and by far the worst ever election to the highest office in US history. I'm not blaming her or anyone else. I don't watch television, but every place I was in that had one had Trump nonstop. He knew how to get his name thrown out constantly and received constant media attention. It was a marketing coup. They only conclusion I can make is that voters don't all vote rationally.
