that they couldn't be bought by lobbyists. They don't see that these people have already been bought, and they want to continue selling the benefits powers. Their assets and trusts for themselves and future family members are dependent on keeping the money flowing towards the corporations in which they hold investments. The greed keeps them in the market for the highest bidder.
