This is why healthcare should NOT be tied to employment.
As to Ratner, I feel a bit sorry for him - it was a lapse of judgment, but 42 years of hard work down the tubes? Boycott petitions? One of his employees says in the article they felt he really was trying to get something better for his employees. Because if you run a small business healthcare is a HUGE cost item. And ACA requires you to carry it when you have a certain number of employees. So, naturally he is trying to get his costs down.
Which is why healthcare should NOT be tied to employment.
Bad policy.
So was it a dumb move for Ratner to be in the same room with the orange underwear stain? Sure was. Was he naive? Yes. Does he deserve to go out of business because of it? I don't know.
I mean, Trump fucks up everything he touches. I mean everything. Puerto Ricans are still dying and he's talking about them paying back Wall Street and pulling FEMA. California is on fire, with no end in sight and Trump hasn't even acknowledged that. Tillerson says that the US will negotiate with North Korea 'until the first bomb falls,' and now we're in a pissing contest with Iran.
Trump just doesn't give a shit. He doesn't care about anyone but himself. He is profoundly ignorant. There just isn't anything good about this guy. He's a fucking sociopath. All you have to do is listen to him speak and you feel like you're wading through shit.
