Nowhere in the post did I suggest you do, or not do anything at all.

I'm pretty ambivalent about FB. I was surprised at the number of lists that turned up in a search for the phrase "reasons to abandon Facebook" and was unaware of the study linked above.
The ethical practices of the company might warrant more scrutiny these days, as suggested in one of the links. I know the fact that anything posted there becoming property of the company has had some photographers and artists wishing they'd read the fine print more carefully.

By all means kill your tv if you wish, and perhaps practice what you preach.
