In reply to the discussion: TRUTHBOMB ON CNN: "He's been a liar his entire life! He's a BS artist!" [View all]maddiemom
(5,180 posts)41. He flummoxed the other Republican candidates at the convention.
It started there. They weren't ready for a candidate like him and didn't know how to handle him. The media entirely lay down and enjoyed the ratings. By the time he got to Hillary, he was really rolling. Predictably, Hillary did handle him quite well, but it was too late. Nobody cared and his deplorables thought he was great. By now Trump actually THINKS he won the debates. He performed miserably, but it didn't matter; he might as well have won. He lost the popular vote by a margin that wasn't even close (as in 2000). He played his "base" in just the right way, so it didn't matter. His base happened to live in the right areas, and the curious way he "squeeked by" in usually blue states, is perplexing and suspicious.

Thank you, Ms. Setmayer. Nobody's ever said it clearer and with such brevity. (nt)

I heard that a couple days ago. It needs to be a consistent, constant part of the conversation.
