In reply to the discussion: Goat-Herding Dog Refused To Abandon Flock Amid Firestorm, Miraculously Survived [View all]Bettie
(19,587 posts)40. We recently adopted a Great Pyr/Anatolian mix
his name is Ronan. He has the same behaviors and is such a great dog.
The cats...well, they are less sure of him as he thinks they require herding. They disagree.
He also climbs the stairs to the slide, which is his watchtower to keep our yard squirrel free!
He was a rescue, someone didn't want to keep this beautiful boy, but he was clearly meant to be our dog, since he appeared at the shelter right after our 14 year old dog died.
Odin is a great dog and I had to smile that he also found some other strays.

OP
This story sure got to me, too - and I'm also sure he'd make a much better POTUS!

By coincidence, a couple of days ago I gathered photos of a few of the finest dog heroes...

Thank you so much, Rhiannon! I quite agree. Bless Frida's wonderful Lab heart!
